Matthew K. Manning is a comic book writer, historian, and fan. He has written many comics for Marvel and DC Comics, including Beware the Batman, Batman, The Batman Strikes!, Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century, Spider-Man Unlimited, and Marvel Romance Redux. When not writing comics themselves, he writes books about the comic book medium and its rich history. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina, with his wife, Dorothy, and their two daughters, Lillian and Gwendolyn.

Great book.

This is a great book for kids, collectors, and artists. The art work is bold and vivid enough to make the heroes, and villans literally jump off the pages. It is bound well, and the pages are thick, and heavy. Which is great for children. Each page gives a well written bio for each character. I did unfortunately receive mine with a couple pages dog eared. Which as a collector drives you nuts. But I enjoyed this book so much I gave it five stars anyway. I would recommend this book for any fan, or a gift to one.
